Yuzawa Kogen is situated in the middle of Yuzawa town - you can ski down from the slopes right down onto the main high street.

The Yuzawa Kogen ropeway is in itself a little piece of history - it boasts the largest gondola car in the world, with a capacity of 166 people.

The base station of the resort is just a 5 minute walk from Yuzawa train station [leave from the west exit and turn right!]

Yuzawa Kogen is a quiet, relaxed resort. The views from this resort are amazing - you can see across to various other resorts including Kandatsu, Iwaparra, Mitsumata and Gala Yuzawa.

This is not a large resort - more of a place for those who want a quiet place to practice, or to teach the kids.

Nunoba family kids' gelende

There are 2 family areas on the lower slopes, which lead straight to down to the high street.

The main 'Nunoba Family' area has childrens play facilities, where the kids can play in the snow, and also have their first runs on the skis.

After taking the Yuzawa Kogen ropeway to the higher slopes, this is where the more adventurous runs can be found. However, its also good to ride up and then back down on the ropeway, just to check out the view at the top.

Yuzawa Kogen is also the main setting of the Yuzawa snow festival, which takes place on the first weekend of March every year.

The resort hosts a fantastic firework display, in addition to other events such as snow sculpture exhibits, and the ceremonial carrying of a 'mikoshi' portable shrine around the town.

Yuzawa Kogen ski trip booking

1. Day Return: from 1 Jan 07

Yuzawa Kogen is a great place to visit for a day trip. The resort is suited for families, those new to skiing or boarding, or for those who want a relaxed ski resort that offers fantastic views.

Our Yuzawa Kogen day return package costs JPY20,750 per person, and contains the following:

- Tokyo-Yuzawa return-fare train ticket
- 1 day ski pass
- 1 day ski rental.

Please note that ski wear rental is not available for this resort.

By leaving out the ski/snowboard rental option, the price is reduced to JPY18,750 per person.

We send the tickets by courier to your home, office or hotel [within the Tokyo area]. In order to maintain as much flexibility as possible, we send train tickets valid for any time on your specified travel date.

2. Hotel packages

The package contains B&B accommodation, lift pass and
