Kagura main piste
Kagura - main piste

After skiing or riding through Mitsumata you reach Kagura. After taking the long Mitsumata Gondola you have a choice between taking the intermediate run back down under the gondola, or heading towards the Kagura No1 lift, which is for intermediate to advanced riders.

Simply put, Kagura offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding in Japan. The snow quality is excellent, the views amazing, and the zigzag nature of the lifts allow for plenty of tree skiing and riding, and off-piste adventures - at your own risk! [please see the notes below]

Unlike many resorts in Japan, Kagura has a relaxed attitude to back country skiing and snowboarding. The general standard of skiers and boarders is high at this resort.

For those who wish to try some backcountry, please be aware that the resort can only provide patrol services within the resort area. If assistance is required outside this area, charges will apply.

This is where you will find the WeLoveSnow team for a lot of the season: bounding down the mountains, chest high in light fluffy powder snow!
