Gala Yuzawa is a popular, lively resort situated just 10 minutes from the centre of Yuzawa town.

Gala is unique in that the resort provides great facilities for beginners, children and families, but in carefully separated expert areas also has an extensive terrain park with death-defying jumps, and a mogul area to test the sturdiest of knees.

Gala Yuzawa resort offers the ultimate in convenience - the resort has its own bullet train station at the foot of the mountain.

You can get on the train at Tokyo station, and 77 minutes later arrive at Gala. After going through the ticket barriers you pass the ski pass desk, rental desk, and on the same floor there is the gondola station to take you to the slopes.

So you go straight from the train station to the top of the Japanese alps, with views such as these!

Gala is a well-maintained resort that does its utmost to accommodate international visitors - there are PA announcements in English, even in Chinese!

You will find plenty of English information, including piste signs and maps. The resort employs western staff at its ticketing desk and ski rental desk, as well as English-speaking ski instructors.
