Group Ski Tours - Case Study: Xavier College, Melbourne, Australia

During April 2007 WeLoveSnow were pleased to welcome Xavier College of Melbourne, Australia to sample the delights of 'Yuzawa Snow Country'.

Upon arrival in of the group in Japan, WeLoveSnow assisted in every step of travel plans to ensure a safe journey. The group were met upon arrival at Narita airport, shown to the trains bound for Tokyo and then Yuzawa, and finally met at Yuzawa and bussed directly to their hotel.

The group stayed for a week at Wada Lodge in Mitsumata, 10 minutes from Yuzawa and very close to Kagura Ski Resort.

The group consisted of a mix of beginner to intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

WeLoveSnow advised that the group ski at Kagura ski resort - this provided the best option for the skill level of the group, and also offers the best snow conditions for this relatively late stage of the season.

We also arranged ski and snowboard rental. The sizes of each member of the group were taken in advance, so that the group could take their rental gear and get onto the slopes as quickly as possible!

Prior to arrival, we had been keeping the organisers of the group up to date with weather and snow reports.

Although the timing of the trip at 5-11 April was edging towards the end of the season, the snow base was a healthy 2.5 metres. Upon arrival, the group were more than happy: we were told that

"Kagura is sensational, and what a way to spend Easter!"

During the first day on the slopes, a member of WeLoveSnow staff was on hand to make sure that everything went smoothly. We took these group ski trip photos on the slopes.

WeLoveSnow also arranged ski and snowboarding lessons for the various skill levels of the group.

Our ski instructors are native English speakers - mostly English, Australian or New Zealanders- and offer experienced tuition for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.

All in all we received positive feedback from the organisers of the trip. Apart from a great week of skiing and snowboarding, many of the students were able to brush up on their Japanese language skills and gain from the cultural experience of a trip to the real Japan.
