Ski Resort
Hotels
Looking just to kick back and relax? These
hotels are for the leisure traveler who wants
to experience Japan in luxury. Accommodation
is of a high standard, and in beautiful surroundings.
Though not the cheapest option, ski resort hotels
offer a wide variety of services and facilities.
Resort hotels will usually have room service,
satellite TV, ski/board rental, shuttle bus
services and great onsen. In some cases, ski
lessons are available in English.

Spa
Hotels
Without question, the Japanese bathing experience
is the best in the world - and after a long
and exhilarating day in the snow nothing beats
a long soak in a hot spring bath of natural
mineral water.
Many hotels have hot baths (onsen) but the
spa hotels do it in style. Often with 'rotemburo'
heated outdoor baths, these hotels have onsen
which are quintessentially Japanese and just
have to be experienced to be believed! |

Ryokan
Ryokan can vary from a top-class [and top-price]
Japanese, to an inn with essentially the same
services as a minshuku or hotel.
For the Japanese experience of sleeping on
futon mattresses places on 'tatami' rice mats,
you can't really beat Ryokan. Food is generally
high quality, made from fresh local produce,
and is generally served in the room. However,
exceptions apply, and room only rates are also
available for those who prefer the freedom to
choose where to eat. |

Ski Lodges and Pensions
Typically located very close to the ski slopes, ski lodges and pensions have the same friendly atmosphere as a minshuku.
Unlike a minshuku, rooms can be either Japanese or western style.

Minshuku
On a budget? Or just keen to do it "Japanese
Style"? Then a minshuku is your best option.
Sometimes described as the Japanese version
of a bed and breakfast, we have a range of minshuku
to choose from, each one checked out individually
by WeLoveSnow staff.
