Weather permitting, our ski season begins at 8am on 17 November 2007. This is the target date for the opening of Naeba ski resort. Here at WeLoveSnow, we can't wait.
At such an early stage of the season its man-made snow, with only 2 small runs open.
But it feels great to get the boots back on, get strapped up or clicked in, and to get on those slopes!
For those of us lucky enough to make day or weekend trips, its also good to get the legs used to skiing and snowboarding. Bring it on!

WeLoveSnow breaks world record !
On 1 April 2007 a crack WeLoveSnow team comprising of Neil Riley, Patrick Latter and Josh Bryant broke the broke the world record for riding the most different ski lifts in 24 hours.
The previous record set in 1996 was 42 lifts, ridden by Dennis Woods in Vail and Breckenridge, Colorado, USA. Despite treacherous conditions caused by thick fog, we broke the record by riding 44 lifts in a day.
With 20 resorts within 20 minutes of its train station, Yuzawa is the perfect destination to break this record. We rode lifts in Naeba, Tashiro, Kagura, Mitsumata, Kandatsu, Yuzawa Kogen, Gala Yuzawa and Ishiuchi Maruyama ski resorts. See our ski lift challenge page to see how we did it!
